Hants have joined us, after paying to become a Non-County(!) Member of the SCCU. Kent have never played in this competition. They were hoping to play this year but their efforts to find an organiser were unsuccessful. They hope to find one for next year. Teams are in local zones - see the league tables below - and the winners proceed to the Final Jamboree.
Rate of play is 30 in 45 min, plus QPF 15/15; except that players not keeping score forfeit their extra 15 min. Qualifying grades are Standardplay. That's the rule. However, games will be Rapidplay graded.

ZONE RESULTS
How to read these results
The Zones are jumbled up any old how. Each match is double-round. In round 1 the pairings are as printed; in round 2 the home players swop places on boards 1-2, 3-4 etc. Or, if you prefer, the away players do. Sometimes the teams have varied from this arrangement for round 2, and a note clarifies. The scores by a player's name are always his. To find the name of his second-round opponent, adjust vertically.
An asterisk by a county name means the result has come from that side. Grades marked "r" are Rapidplay: player has no Standardplay grade. (Captains often don't supply grades. This seems unfortunate, in a grading-limited competition, and it can make players hard to identify.)
Note 25.12.00. We're not sure whether the "missing" matches (see fixtures below) are really missing or have been postponed. We don't get junior results as reliably as adult ones.

The following match wouldn't fit into our normal layout. The Herts board 1 didn't turn up, so in the second round everybody just moved up a board. We'd have thought that meant a double default on 12, but Middx had conceded the bottom two boards in advance and Herts had their number 11 present to make up the ten in round 2. Not sure why he didn't substitute on 1 in the first round.
