Everyone qualified. Automatic qualifying score was 17 for Primary age groups, 15 for Secondary. But "highest in section from your school in your age group" qualified as well. "Age group" means school year. We understand one section did have two players of the same age from the same school, but they tied.
rjh note 21.4.06. These were definitely the rules in use at this event. But I hear from Mike Basman, who organises the competition, that they were incorrect. It's "highest in your section from your age group", never mind what school you're from. (Sexes qualify separately.) There has obviously been misunderstanding somewhere along the line.
Further note 23.4.06. Mike has found that the Kent organisers were not at fault. It turns out that the incorrect rules were actually circulated to Last Chance Saloon organisers, following an unnoticed ambiguity in the rules of the competition. The correct rules are as in our previous paragraph, and the ambiguity will be removed next year. This year's Kent qualifications will, of course, be allowed to stand.
