Positions: 1 Kent 9½/12; 2 Essex 8½; 3 Herts 6½; 4 Surrey 5; 5 Sussex 4; 6 Berks 2½. Kent's victory was particularly well deserved as half their team started with three quarters of an hour on their clocks. Traffic jams on a Kentish bit of the M25.

The BCF have announced that the SCCU may nominate one extra team for the Major final. Presumably Essex will be invited, and Herts will qualify for the Minor. We do not know how many teams will qualify from the other Unions.

The GIRLS U18 JAMBOREE on the 5th March was cancelled. In the end, the experiment of holding the Girls event on a different day does not seem to have worked. Middx withdrew their Girls team as well as their "Boys" one, leaving Essex and Surrey as the only Girls contestants. Essex, unable to field a team of any strength, then conceded rather than make Surrey travel for a one-sided match. Surrey go through to the BCF Final.

BCF FINALS
It was announced at Chelmsford that all the Finals would be on Saturday 8th April in Nuneaton. We do not know whether there will be a BCF Final for Girls Second Teams, but we'd have thought it unlikely.
